Midtown Detroit, Inc. (MDI) in partnership with the New Economy Initiative (NEI) is seeking proposals to transform the undersides of two viaducts located in Midtown Detroit's TechTown district with public art and light.

Parallel Projections invites you to participate in this open, international design competition; Reanimate The Ruins! Participants are charged to investigate and propose a new dynamic and adaptive urban node on one of the city's most iconic sites, the Packard Auto Plant.
Cast your vision for the rehabilitation of Detroit through the introduction of secondary urban nodes of destiny to support the city center. Use elements that make up a successful urban area through new mixed-use construction, while leaving part of the Packard in ruins as a monument to its history.

The University of Detroit Mercy School of Architecture is currently enrolling students for the 2014 Architecture and Digital Media summer camp. The camp will take place at UDM between June 23rd - 27th and is open to any 9th - 12th graders. The application deadline is June 3rd.
